Westcountry Structure

 

Director and Founder:

Pippa Bealing.  Oversees the day to day running of the company. She is also the head Client Manager.

Client Managers:

  • Take clients through the referral process. Work alongside clients and support tutors to work with students without pressure and with the right information.
  • Schedule lessons and are the only ones who can alter lesson days and times on a long-term basis.
  • Typically educated to a relevant post graduate level and /or have lots of experience with dealing with families, children and education.
  • Need to have the advanced skill of hearing a tiny piece of information giving in simple language (often from the parents) and understand the students cognitive and emotional processes behind what is being described.
  • Puts parents and guardians at ease and support to make the tuition smooth for tutor and student.

Mentors:

  • Mentors are tutors that have worked with Westcountry SEN for a number of years and are completely aligned to the core values and ethos.
  • They are especially skilled at engaging students who are often reluctant to learn.
  • Expertly skilled at being flexible in lessons to meet children’s cognitive and emotional needs.
  • Mentors are chosen for their exceptional interpersonal skills with students and the results they achieve.
  • Their main job is to support new trainees and to be on hand for advice and support to tutors.

Course Creators:

  • These are Client Managers, and qualified tutors who have experience of postgraduate study.
  • They who enjoy writing courses to share information.
  • They are highly knowledgable.
  • Westcountry SEN also has some freelance course creators who have worked in education for manny years.

Qualified /Senior tutors

  • These tutors have either qualified from Westcountry SEN.
  • or have qualified somewhere else and are in alignment with Westcountry SEN’s values.

Tutors:

  • These are tutors who have joined the company and need less support but are not yet qualified.
  • They need some support from mentors to learn specifics from within Westcountry SEN’s values and ways of working.

Trainee Tutors:

  • Have been chosen for their ability to engage with people and students.
  • Have been invited to undertake the year long training process.

Accounts Manager/ HR

  • Undertakes all day to day accounting.
  • Responsible for DBS checks on tutors and obtaining references.
  • Oversees the company payroll.
